Overview

The Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) has a very exciting opportunity for a Science Media Producer to join us on a 12-month contract. We are looking for someone who is passionate about science and who is comfortable discussing it with a wide range of people from graduates to Nobel laureates. In this role you will be responsible for organising and hosting digital events on a wide variety of topics relevant to chemical scientists worldwide. This includes events organised by our flagship magazine - Chemistry World, supporting those led by our colleagues across the organisation, and working with commercial partners. You will be a confident presenter and speaker, and comfortable with live broadcast scenarios as well as dealing with an audience. We are looking for: Degree level qualification in a relevant scientific field (chemistry, physics, biology or others) Experience of science communication through qualification, professional background or as a passion Confident speaker and presenter Experience with interviewing scientists and industry representatives in a live environment Experience of writing, editing and fact-checking scripts Experience of writing and preparing content for the web, including social media If you are interested in this role, please apply before the closing date.
