As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Science Teacher to join our close-knit team at Acorn Park School located in Norwich. **Welcome bonus £2000. £1000 paid after 3 months, £1000 paid after successful probation (6 months). T&Cs apply Job Purpose: To teach KS3, KS4 and KS5 National Curriculum Science leading to GCSEs and A-Levels where appropriate. To develop the academic capabilities, social and communication skills and focussing on successful and purposeful learning. To lead by example, ensuring the highest quality of education and care for every pupil.

Main Responsibilities:

To develop and implement Science schemes of work (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) and lesson plans in line with the requirements of the Formal Curriculum Pathway. To manage Science teaching resources including chemical storage To ensure relevant Health and Safety standards are upheld at all times and in line with regulations To organise the learning environment and develop resources in order to maximise the learning process. To establish positive relationships with pupils and to develop close, professional relationships with parents/carers.

Experience Physicist or Chemist preferred (Biologist considered depending on previous experience) To view the job description, please click here - About us Acorn Park is a school for 98 pupils, who all have a primary diagnosis of Autism. We run two curriculum pathways – Formal and Semi-formal. Our Complex needs pupils are on the Semi-Formal Pathway which is highly personalised from their EHCP. We have a mixture of Day and Residential pupils as we have 8 co-located pupil’s homes on our 30 Acre site in rural Norfolk. On site, we also have a large Forest School and Animal Care Farm along with play facilities, a sports hall and sensory rooms. For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties.
