Are you passionate about science and eager to support the next generation of scientists? We are seeking a dedicated and organised Science Technician to join our dynamic team at a vibrant secondary school in High Wycombe. This is an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in the day-to-day operation of the school's science department.

About the Role:

As a Science Technician, you will provide essential support to the science department, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and students have access to a safe and engaging learning environment. Your responsibilities will include preparing materials and equipment for experiments, maintaining laboratory resources, and adhering to health and safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare, set up, and clear away laboratory equipment and materials for lessons and experiments. Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging and practical science lessons. Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is clean, safe, and in good working order. Monitor and replenish stock of chemicals and other consumables. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including the safe storage and disposal of hazardous materials. Support students and staff with practical work as needed.

What We're Looking For:

A passion for science and a keen eye for detail. Prior experience in a laboratory or school setting (preferred but not essential). A good understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly in a laboratory environment. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks. A proactive and team-oriented approach to work. Relevant qualifications in science or laboratory work (e.g., GCSEs, A-levels, or equivalent in science subjects).
