We are working with a real innovator in their field, supporting them in their search to recruit a Scientific Sales Specialist. The organisation is advancing the possibilities in science, and the successful Scientific Sales Specialist will play an exciting and lead role in taking their innovative products to market. The Scientific Sales Specialist will be home office based and will be working with a global customer base. You will be required to access their North West based Head Office for product training, but then only occasional travel thereafter.

The successful Scientific Sales Specialist will take the lead in day-to-day sales to existing customers and developing new business opportunities. Their customers cover a broad range of industries from microelectronics and semi-conductors to materials, nanotechnology & academic research. Your customer base will be global, so travel will be minimal and likely to include a trip per quarter to attend events/exhibitions and to progress/develop sales and occasionally to support the implementation of the instruments.

The organisation is seeking an ambitious, proactive, and enthusiastic Scientific Sales Specialist. They are looking for an experienced scientific sales person with a proven track record selling into a similar customer base. This company develops products that are at the leading edge of microscopy and pushing the boundaries of technology development. You will have a keen interest in science and will be looking for a role that is at the cutting edge. You'll be joining a small team, and in addition to sales, you'll get the opportunity to support the customer with new user training and product installation (full training provided).

Duties will include (but not limited to):

Support in the development of the sales strategy and market mapping. Engage in outbound sales activities, often by online meetings, calls, and emails, as well as occasional client visits. Support in the development of a CRM to detail and progress existing customers and categorize prospects and suspects. Network within Research/Industry organisations and attend key sector events and academic symposiums. Support in the development of marketing material, presentations, and associated literature. Provide technical advice and support to customers, including some product training/application support. Understand market trends and client demands, feeding back product innovation opportunities to the R&D team. Accurate forecasting of sales pipeline to management.

Experience & Qualifications: Proven field sales experience. Background selling lab/scientific instrumentation. Current/recent experience selling to the semi-conductor, materials, or related sectors. Degree in a scientific or engineering discipline (Master's or Ph.D. preferred but not mandatory). Hands-on experience with microscopy & applications would be beneficial but is not essential. Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain complex scientific concepts. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
