About this role Our scientists are responsible for a range of analytical and physical chemistry techniques to ensure competent and timely completion of analyses in GMP and UKAS accredited laboratories. Location: Full time on site, roles available at Earby, BB18 6JZ and Skipton, BD23 3AG. Scientist Responsibilities: Perform analytical testing on client products Adhere to study protocols Adhere to company policy and procedure e.g. Dignity at work, Health & Safety, GMP, UKAS and ISO. Record data in a timely and accurate manner as per ALCOA Key Tasks: To perform chemical analysis to produce high-quality, compliant data for clients within the agreed timeframes. Testing includes chemical and physical analysis of the following product @types: Aerosol (e.g. Vapes and HTP) Liquid Dose (e.g. E-liquids) Solid Dose (e.g. Capsules, Pouches, Gummies, Lozenges) Raw Materials and API (e.g. Cannabis Flower) Preparation of reagents Preparation of samples and standards used in the testing Maintaining the standards of housekeeping required in the laboratory Production of data in accordance with the Quality Management System All personnel involved in the conduct of a GMP regulatory and non-regulated study must be knowledgeable in those parts of the principles of good laboratory practice which are applicable to their involvement in the study. Comply with the instructions given in test methods/study plans etc. Any deviation from these instructions should be documented and communicated directly to the line manager or study director/principal investigator for GMP studies. Any other duties as required to fulfil business goals Scientist Requirements: Graduate of chemistry or a related subject. 2 years of laboratory experience would be considered as an alternative. Good technical problem-solving skills Good verbal reasoning Competent with standard ‘Office’ applications (Excel, Word etc) Strong individual contributor and team player Desirable: Able to offer solutions to problems Experience with statistical packages Experience with the analytical techniques performed at Broughton Life Sciences Experience working in a highly regulated environment to GMP/UKAS/ISO standards Scientist Benefits: Salary- £26,250 - £28,450 – Graduate Entry Level £26,250 Broughton Day Option of a fixed day off every 2 or 3 weeks through salary sacrifice Holidays, 25 days per year plus statutory holidays Full benefits package on our Job Description (available on request) Meet the Organisation: Who We Are and What We Do Broughton’s mission is to improve public health and well-being.
