The Role: We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Field Bioinformatics Specialist (FBS) to join our team. In this role, you will support our Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) customers in the UK and the wider EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa). You will provide expert bioinformatics knowledge, software support, and training, with a special focus on our Oncology portfolio. Growth and Development: Continuous learning opportunities to advance your career. Key Responsibilities: Deliver exceptional customer support and training on bioinformatics software for NGS. Stay at the forefront of scientific advancements through ongoing training. Conduct NGS data analysis as part of our professional services. Lead and participate in pre-sales meetings, workshops, and webinars. Qualifications: Education: M.Sc./PhD in bioinformatics or equivalent experience. Experience: Proven track record in bioinformatics for NGS with expertise in at least two of the following: oncology, genomics, genetics, programming, or statistics. Technical Skills: Proficiency with bioinformatics software, algorithms for NGS, and experience in a LINUX/UNIX environment. Basic IT and system administration skills are essential. Programming: Scripting experience in PERL, Python, or R. Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex technical information effectively in English, both orally and in writing. Independence: Self-motivated with the ability to work independently as part of a remote team. Advantage: Experience in bioinformatics for Microarray technology. Location and Travel: This is a home-office based position in the UK or Northern Europe. The role involves approximately 20% travel within the EMEA region.
