The Infectious Diseases & Vaccines (IDV) group is funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and collaborates with leading academic groups worldwide on a wide variety of infectious disease projects including syphilis, malaria, HIV, influenza, and antimicrobial-resistant bacteria. The IDV group is looking to recruit a PhD (or equivalent) Research Scientist, ideally with experience in an industrial setting or in a translationally-focused academic environment. You will be working as part of a team developing antibody-based therapies and evaluating new vaccines for bacterial, viral and parasitic infections of global importance. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in protein biochemistry, in vitro assay development and monoclonal antibody research. Main responsibilities:

Provide scientific and technical support to infectious disease projects across the IDV portfolio. Carry out monoclonal antibody in vitro functional assays and high-throughput SPR screening. Design and implement experiments, troubleshoot, and analyse data. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all experiments. Present experimental results both internally and externally as appropriate. Author study reports for internal/external stakeholders. About you:

Qualifications/ Education & work experience PhD or equivalent research experience in an academic or biopharmaceutical setting. Experience with in vitro functional assays and monoclonal antibody screening techniques. Knowledge or experience with surface plasmon resonance and/or flow cytometry. Good attention to detail and ability to multi-task across a variety of IDV projects. Strong motivation, excellent communication and organisation skills.
