About the role

Sygnature Discovery provides Protein Science Contract Research services to clients globally. These include the engineering of tailored proteins of all classes and types for a variety of end uses that includes biochemical screening, biophysics, diagnostics and biologics drug discovery. We also have a very large group of scientists who undertake structural studies using X-ray crystallography, CryoEM and protein NMR. We are fully equipped to undertake all this work. Our passion is to provide clients with the protein tools and information they need to undertake their work.

Due to further expansion, we are looking to recruit Scientists/Senior Scientists with an enthusiasm for one or more of the following: protein structural biology, protein engineering, protein expression and purification. The position will be available at our Protein Science site in Macclesfield, Cheshire, UK.

Key requirements

As a minimum, you will have a BSc/MSc in Biochemistry or a related discipline.

At the Senior Scientist level, you must have several years of experience in drug discovery and/or a PhD and/or postdoctoral experience.

Successful project delivery will be achieved through your individual experimental work and by working flexibly with colleagues. Good communication and team working skills are therefore essential.

You must be able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills and experience in some of the techniques involved in protein expression, purification and analysis including structural biology.

Importantly, you should show the enthusiasm and self-motivation required to develop your scientific skills and knowledge further.
