About the role: Scientist / Senior Scientist (Bioscience) Bioscientists at Sygnature Discovery play essential roles in supporting and leading integrated client projects as well as developing and delivering customised biological screening assays to drive structure-activity relationships for preclinical drug discovery campaigns. Due to continued growth, we are expanding our talented Bioscience department at both Nottingham and Alderley Park locations. We are seeking bright Scientists who can help push the boundaries of our capabilities by contributing to the discovery of new drugs across a broad range of projects, molecular targets, and therapeutic indications. A PhD in a relevant Biology-related discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Enzymology, Biophysics, Cell Biology, Pharmacology) is essential. Whether you are a Scientist looking to transition from academia to the pharmaceutical industry and jumpstart your career in drug discovery, or a Senior Scientist who has a good understanding in the application of drug discovery and is seeking broader exposure to biology, disease areas, screening platforms, and therapeutic modalities —we would love to hear from you! Key requirements: Ideally you will have a PhD or about to complete it in Pharmacology, Biochemistry or a related Biology-specific discipline. A strong scientific track record with experience built within a drug discovery environment is highly desirable. A working knowledge of current trends in drug discovery. Ability to develop novel assays from first principles and interpret complex biological datasets. Aptitude for proactive trouble-shooting and adoption of industry-leading practices for generation and analysis of robust scientific data. Ability to work independently and as part of a larger team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to present complex scientific ideas and datasets to key stakeholders.
