After successfully launching to critical and public acclaim, and with over 28,000 visitors to the exhibition at City Art Centre, Edinburgh in 2023/24, we’re thrilled to let you know that entries to
the Scottish Landscape Awards 2025
are now open until 23:59, 24 February 2025. The awards are open to everyone over 16 years born, living or studying in Scotland. Entries to the awards may be imaginary, surreal, abstract, documentary, ecological, realistic – anything is possible as long as the work carries a strong sense of place or context. Judges:

Once again, we’d really appreciate your help in spreading the word and would encourage your audience to apply for this fantastic opportunity. The awards are run by the Scottish Arts Trust, a volunteer-led, not-for-profit charity, so all proceeds go directly back into supporting the awards. Prizes:

The resulting exhibition will be open at Kirkcudbright Galleries, from
5 July to 28 September 2025
with the
preview and announcement of award winners held 4 July 2025 . Kirkcudbright Galleries is a brand new gallery of national significance, located in the
‘Artists’ Town’
of Kirkcudbright in south-west Scotland. A guaranteed footfall of 20,000 visitors will see the exhibition over the summer months. Arrangements will be made to enable exhibiting artists to attend the awards event on Friday 4 July 2025. New Bursary Fund:
Scottish Arts Trust Bursaries provide opportunities for skilled under-represented artists to obtain free entry to our awards. Bursaries may be awarded to artists affected by low household income; discrimination due to race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion or as a member of a minority group; who are refugees or forced migrants; ex-offenders; who are affected by disabilities; full-time carers or who face other barriers that may affect entry to our awards. Artists who receive a bursary and are selected for the exhibition will also receive support for the professional framing or presentation of their work and associated travel costs. Applications from artists applying for the Scottish Landscape Award bursaries must be received by 10 December 2024.
Artists who apply for a bursary will be informed of the outcome one month before the competition closes. For more details,
