Culture for Climate Scotland (CCS)
is seeking an experienced screen industry professional to develop sustainability in the screen industry in Scotland. Working within the CCS team as a freelance consultant from February 2025 to March 2026, the appointee will develop a compelling case study to provide an example of best environmental practice in the Scottish screen production industry and present it in various formats: live, recorded and in document form. They will research training needs in the industry, and develop and deliver appropriate training modules, including training aimed at increasing the number of sustainability co-ordinators working in Scotland. They will be the main point of contact on sustainability for the whole industry and will collate information that can contribute to the longer-term strategic direction of support for sustainability in the industry in Scotland. They will be supported by the wider CCS team and will join the team for appropriate meetings. Eligibility
Open to any experienced sustainability co-ordinator with deep knowledge of the Scottish screen industry. You must have the right to work in the UK. Fee
This contract is offered as a freelance contract for 130 days between February 2025 and 31 March 2026 at the rate of £252/seven-hour day. Time Commitment
Elements of the work will require more work at certain times. We recognise that a freelance sustainability co-ordinator will be in demand during the busier summer production period, so to ensure that the required outputs are delivered in good time while enabling the consultant to seek other work, the 130 days can be spread out over the whole period in agreement with CCS. Applicants are asked to submit a CV with a covering letter which, between them, demonstrate that the applicant has the experience, skills and knowledge required to deliver the project successfully. Location
It is anticipated that the consultant will be based in Scotland. Culture for Climate Scotland has an office in central Edinburgh and some attendance at meetings there will be required, with travel at the consultant’s own expense. Otherwise, the work can be undertaken from home or elsewhere. Travel expenses from within Scotland to external meetings, presentations etc will be covered. Recruitment Schedule
