Scrum Master Swindon £48,000 - £53,000 Applicants must be eligible for UK Security Clearance and have UK Citizenship Summary: The Scrum Master is responsible for facilitating agile practices, removing obstacles, and fostering an environment that enables high-performing teams to deliver quality products efficiently. This role acts as a servant leader, ensuring the team adheres to Scrum principles, collaborates effectively, and continuously improves. The Scrum Master works closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to drive the successful delivery of projects. Skills, Knowledge and Experience: Experience working on UK Government projects and initiatives would be beneficial. 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role in an Agile environment. Strong understanding of Agile principles and frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe. Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or equivalent certification (e.g., PSM, SAFe Scrum Master). Proven experience working with software development teams in a collaborative environment. Familiarity with Agile tools such as Jira, Trello, or Azure DevOps. Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills to empower teams and individuals. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to address and resolve conflicts constructively. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Passionate about Agile methodologies and continuous improvement. Empathetic leader with the ability to build trust and encourage collaboration. Skilled in managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing requirements. Proactive and solutions-oriented, with a focus on removing barriers for the team. Committed to fostering an environment of innovation and adaptability. Key Responsibilities: Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Serve as a servant leader to the team, removing impediments that hinder progress and enabling teams to focus on their work. Coach team members on Agile principles and Scrum practices to foster continuous improvement and self-organization. Support the Product Owner in maintaining a well-groomed backlog and ensuring that sprint goals align with business objectives. Monitor team performance using metrics such as velocity, burn-down charts, and cycle time, and help teams improve their efficiency. Promote collaboration and communication within the team and across departments. Foster a culture of accountability, adaptability, and transparency to ensure teams deliver high-quality products. Work to resolve conflicts and improve team dynamics to build a cohesive and motivated team. Identify and escalate risks and blockers that may impact the project timeline or team efficiency. Advocate for agile best practices and drive organizational adoption of agile principles where applicable.
