Context

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Ecologist to join our growing engineering team, delivering survey work on Infrastructure projects across the South of England. The post-holder will be part of a growing team of UK engineers delivering projects for a diverse portfolio of UK clients. Missions/Main Duties

Relevant consultancy experience with a strong focus on preliminary ecological assessments, Phase 1 ecological survey, UKHab and condition assessment surveys. Protected species licences are desirable and holding at least one personal protected species licence is preferred. Undertaking protected species and UKHab surveys. Capable of organising and developing your work with minimal supervision, managing a challenging workload subject to change at short notice. High level of personal responsibility. Adaptable and flexible approach to different project requirements. Main Duties

Duties will involve field surveys for a major project from design through to delivery. Working collaboratively with colleagues from different organisations to deliver common ecological support for the projects. Record keeping and routine admin work as well as other duties assigned by the manager from time to time. Working in more than one project, role and task. Planning and undertaking ecological surveys. Producing a wide range of ecology reports. Conducting protected species surveys. Performing UKHab and condition assessment surveys. Profile/Skills

Experience of UKHab surveys, botany surveys and UK habitat condition assessments or protected species surveys and licensing. Degree in Ecology or any relevant environmental sciences degree, CIEEM membership. Ideally hold Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) 4 or 5 qualification (not essential). Why SYSTRA?
