As a Second Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will have the opportunity to work in a care home setting, delivering hotel/restaurant standards without the split shifts and long weeks. You will work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus, utilize fresh, seasonal produce, and create a warm and welcoming environment for the residents. The role requires a personable and warm approach, a good understanding of nutrition, and the ability to work within budgets and complete regular audits. Job responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in creating nutritious, flavoursome and well-balanced menus tailored to residents' needs. Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence. Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes. Create a warm, efficient, and fun environment. Work within budget and complete regular audits. Manage stock control. Qualifications
Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent. A good understanding of nutrition. Experience of working with fresh seasonal food. Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with residents. Good understanding of HACCP. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
