Have you got experience working as a tutor? Would you like to deliver the English curriculum and support Secondary aged pupils with SEMH outside of mainstream settings? This tutor role will be ideal if you are a teacher with QTS and can teach English up to GCSE level, and are looking for some flexible work. This tutor role involves:

Working with children who may have additional needs or are looked after children Building rapport and a good relationship with the pupils Providing educational sessions, face to face with children at their homes or a local area e.g., library Planning resources around the child’s needs Keeping the child engaged with tasks is essential in this role The location for this role will vary dependent on the need of the pupil but would be pre-agreed prior to the commencement of the tuition. All pupils for this role, however, will be based in Northumberland, so access to your own vehicle will be essential. What are we looking for in a tutor?

Qualified Teacher Status Experience working with children or young people Able to plan and deliver core and cross-curricular engaging sessions Applying skills to get pupils' education back up to speed Managing and implementing different behaviour strategies Checking that pupils are on track to achieve their desired learning outcomes and being able to provide feedback, which can be done via assessments. Desirable – SEN experience To be successful in your application, you must be able to provide evidence of your skills and experience. Please be aware that all applicants will be subject to background checks and will need a current DBS certificate (update service registered).
