Description
VPG is looking for a Finance Controller (temporary) to act as the accounting manager supervising the accounting function at VPG entities in Germany.
Major Responsibilities
Oversight and operation of monthly financial processes, including credit control, journal entry and review, balance sheet and control account reconciliations, maintenance of data upload into consolidation platform (TM1 server). Oversight and operation of periodic VAT and other regulatory tax and financial returns as required by German fiscal authorities. Managing and reporting of the German "country" finance department, including application of procedures and policies (SOX). Preparation and reporting of company income tax computations, budgets, and other financial data. Responsible for compliance with USGAAP and local GAAP accounting principles. Liaise with payroll bureau, advisors, auditors, and other regulatory authorities. Co-ordinate with the VPG financial headquarters to ensure smooth running of the accounting functions. Report to local managing directors and to the regional controller, Europe. Ensure preparation of budgets, forecasts, and reporting to TM1. Ensure regular, timely, and accurate monthly reporting of balances and results for VPG German entities to the Group's consolidation platform (TM1). Review or prepare analytical and reconciliation review questionnaires. Oversee and approve special journals, balance sheet and control account reconciliations, and resolve discrepancies. Design, modify, oversee, implement, and report on internal SOX control processes. Ensure timely collections from customers, including dunning procedures if required. Act as supervisor over accounting staff.
Requirements
Main Requirements
MFG PRO (QAD), SAP, MS Office, with good Excel skills. Recognized degree/accounting qualification. Good background in accounting to include at least 3 years in a similar group-reporting role.
