As a New Business Security Consultant, you will contribute by ensuring the relevant project solutions meet the strict requirements set out by the customer. You will have experience working within the Ministry of Defence or a Government environment and have current working knowledge of industry standards and best practices. Your role will involve: Working with the customer and team to provide technical guidance. Creating secure solutions to meet the customer's needs. Working with the team to determine necessary security controls, collaborating with architects (network, infrastructure) to ensure the solution incorporates the appropriate controls for the security tier and identified threats. Working with suppliers to determine appropriate products and obtain quotes. Your transferable skills and experience: Owning the security aspects and approach to the bid. Understanding both HMG and MOD moves from accreditation to assurance via a SbD approach. Experience in undertaking risk assessments using HMG Information Assurance Standard 1&2, ISO27005 and/or NIST 800-30, and applying security controls, utilizing frameworks such as ISO 27k, NIST 800-53, CIS. Able to collaboratively work with technical architects (infra, networks, service, etc.) to develop the security architecture of a proposed solution and advise on relevant controls (Physical, Procedural, Personnel, and Technical). Experience and understanding of through-life security including patch and vulnerability management, authorization and authentication, protective monitoring, incident management, malware, and boundary protection. Experience responding to security questions and developing compelling responses. Owning security resource estimates for the bid submission. Leading security negotiation/engagement sessions with the client.
