Responsibilities: Carry out physical security patrols both internal and external, including car parking areas, to provide protection for buildings and properties. Lock/unlock buildings and departments on a daily basis. Monitor the issuing and receiving of departmental keys and log details as applicable. Maintain a log of incidents; make written reports of incidents and crime using a notebook system, and transfer entries onto the Security service logging system, immediately reporting a crime or serious incident. Provide assistance and direction to members of the public. Receive reports of lost property and accept found personal property for safe keeping; maintain a register of lost and found property. Take active steps to trace owners and restore their property. Provide written reports and witness statements to the police. May be required to attend magistrates or Crown court to give evidence as applicable.
