SEMH Teacher - Ashford

Role: SEMH TeacherAs an SEMH Teacher, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive, therapeutic, and engaging learning environment for children with diverse emotional and behavioural needs. Your role will involve:
- Teaching a small group of pupils aged 5-16 with complex SEMH needs.
- Designing and delivering personalised lesson plans to meet the specific learning and emotional needs of each pupil.
- Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of therapists, carers, and support staff to create an integrated approach to each child's education and wellbeing.
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to ensure each pupil reaches their full potential.
- Supporting students in managing their emotional regulation and social interactions within the classroom.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with children with SEMH or complex needs is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children who have experienced early life trauma.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a therapeutic community.
Requirements:
- Hold an enhanced child-only DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
- Right to work in the UK.
