£40609 to £60092 (MPS or UPS) Innovative & Creative Alternative Provision located in The London Borough of Greenwich is seeking a well-qualified, dedicated and experienced permanent MPS or UPS SEMH Teacher to start in January 2025. This role involves working with pupils who have Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including those with Autism and challenging behaviours. Class sizes are small, typically up to 5 children per class, each class has a number of 1:1 Teaching Assistants to support the SEMH Teacher and children in class. You will be the type of teacher who can offer more than one subject. The successful MPS or UPS SEMH Teacher must have Qualified Teacher Status. Due to the needs of the children, you will be able to build a strong rapport with pupils with challenging behaviours in a non-judgemental way. Your teaching style will always be fun and engaging lessons. Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEMH and Autism. Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the social and emotional well-being of all students. Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in SEMH and Autism education. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress and behaviour. Minimum Requirements:
You must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with either PGCE / Teach First / ITT / Cert Ed. Taught the UK curriculum in your chosen subject(s) at secondary level. Proven experience working with pupils with SEMH and Autism. Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to handle challenging behaviours calmly and effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create and maintain a supportive and nurturing classroom environment.
