A diverse and inclusive School in the Borough of Lewisham are on the hunt for a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) Teaching Assistant to join their team.

As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will be working with a child in Year 1, who is new to the school. You will be working with the child on a 1:1 and small group basis to support their academic, social, and emotional progress.

JOB DESCRIPTION - SEMH Teaching Assistant

Supporting a child in Year 1 new to the school Working with the child on a 1:1 and small group basis Contributing to the child's social, emotional, and academic progress Working alongside a fantastic team of teachers & support staff Long Term & Full Time - until at least July 2025 £90 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

PERSON SPECIFICATION - SEMH Teaching Assistant

Must have a Degree from a reputable University Good understanding of SEN is required Experience in a previous role, or personal experience with SEN, would be ideal You must be able to work effectively as part of a large team Calm, caring, and committed to working with children with SEN Must be able to use your own initiative - in & out of the classroom
