Role Overview:

As a

Semi Senior Accountant

at Crowthers Chartered Accountants, you will be an integral part of our team, focusing on compliance services for small businesses.

The role is ideal for newly or part-qualified accountants with a solid background in a mixed practice, with experience of accounts preparation for both incorporated and unincorporated businesses, personal and business tax compliance, and services associated with this such as book-keeping and the preparation of VAT returns.

The successful candidate will primarily be based in either Pershore or Cheltenham office, subject to their preference. To support their own development, and the development of the wider team, the role is office based and will require regular travel between these two offices, with occasional travel to Ledbury or Twyning.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Preparation:

Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies, adhering to relevant accounting standards.

Tax Compliance:

Prepare personal and business tax returns, including corporation tax and VAT, ensuring accurate calculation of tax liabilities and timely submissions.

Team Leadership:

Support junior colleagues, guiding their workflows and contributing to their professional development.

Client Relations:

Build and maintain strong client relationships, addressing queries and corresponding in a professional manner at all times.

Specialist Support:

Assist managers and directors with ad-hoc advisory work and project work.

Regulatory Compliance:

Stay updated on changes in tax legislation and accounting standards to ensure compliance and accurate advice.

Process Improvement:

Identify and suggest enhancements to processes, contributing to the development of best practices.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

Newly or part-qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent).

Experience:

Previous experience in a similar role within a practice.

IT Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software and tax preparation tools (IRIS and Xero preferred).

Attention to Detail:

Strong accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks.

Communication Skills:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey information.

Organisational Skills:

Strong organisational and time-management abilities, with experience managing own tasks and deadlines effectively.

Client-Focused:

Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, emphasizing exceptional service delivery.
