Fixed term starting 1st September 2024 TEMP TO PERM EXTENSION PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To provide efficient and effective support for a student with additional needs and to assist in their integration with the main Academy. To ensure that the special needs of the student, as described in the statement of Educational Needs / Education, Health & Care Plans, are supported. YOUR ROLE:

As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in empowering our students to thrive. Our students have a wide range of additional needs, including severe learning difficulties, autism, and EHCP. Here’s what you’ll be doing: Individualised Support: Provide 1:1 support to students with special educational, social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties. Integration: Ensure that pupils can integrate as fully as possible into classroom activities alongside their peers. Progress Monitoring: Help students make progress by running specific programs and activities tailored to their individual learning and social needs. IEP Implementation: Collaborate with class teachers and our SENCo to implement targets from Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Resource Creation: Modify resources and materials to support student learning, including worksheets, games, and visual prompts. Inclusive Environment: Contribute to maintaining an inclusive learning environment across the entire school. Feedback and Reporting: Regularly provide feedback to the SENCo and outside agencies on student difficulties and progress. Annual Reviews: Participate in annual reviews by writing brief reports and attending meetings. Qualifications and Skills: Passion: A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. Collaboration: Ability to work closely with teachers, other support staff, and external agencies. Adaptability: Flexibility in adapting your approach to meet individual learners’ requirements. Empathy: Compassion and understanding for the unique challenges our students face. ABOUT THE ACADEMY:
