SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)

Location: Orpington, UK Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience Join our SEMH school in Orpington, dedicated to providing a supportive and nurturing environment for students with social, emotional, and mental health needs. We are committed to helping our students achieve their full potential through tailored educational programs and comprehensive support services. Day-to-day of the role:

Lead and manage the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Develop and implement effective strategies to support students with SEMH needs. Coordinate and oversee the creation and review of individualized education plans (IEPs). Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to ensure the needs of all students are met. Monitor and evaluate the progress of students with SEND, providing regular reports to senior leadership and parents. Provide training and support to staff on best practices for supporting students with SEMH needs. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and school policies related to SEND. Foster a positive and inclusive school environment that promotes the well-being and academic achievement of all students. Required Skills & Qualifications:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or willingness to work towards it. Experience working with children with SEMH needs is highly desirable. Strong understanding of SEND legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young people. Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable. Benefits:
