Job Description Are you a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant who wants to make a difference in the lives of students with complex needs? Do you have experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant working with individuals who require additional support in an educational setting? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! Step Teachers are working with a Primary school in Plymouth and are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join and contribute to raising the achievement of students. Please note this is a part-time role working 1-1. Working pattern is 12:30-15:30 Monday to Friday. Key Responsibilities of a SEN Teaching Assistant: Provide one-on-one support to a male student with SEN, assisting with their educational and personal development. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to the individual needs of students. Foster a supportive and nurturing learning environment, promoting independence and confidence. Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to implement tailored support plans for students with SEN. Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour, contributing to comprehensive assessments and reports. Requirements of a SEN Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant. SEN experience is essential. A genuine passion for working with children and young people, with a patient and empathetic approach. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to thrive in different educational settings. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools) are desirable but not essential. Why Step Teachers?
