About the Role Dunbar Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated

SEN Teaching Assistant

to join a vibrant and inclusive school starting in January 2025. This role is ideal for someone with experience and a genuine interest in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff, therapists, and parents to support the learning and development of students, helping them achieve their full potential in a nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide tailored support to students with ASC and SLCN in a classroom, small group, or one-to-one setting. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies. Use your specialist knowledge to support speech, language, and communication development. Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment to encourage independence and confidence. Monitor and report on student progress, adapting approaches as necessary. Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and external professionals. About You: To succeed in this role, you will have: Experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Condition and Speech, Language, and Communication Needs. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children with SEN. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A strong understanding of safeguarding procedures and the ability to promote the welfare of children. Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN (preferred but not essential).
