We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with Specialism in SEMH Needs to join our supportive team. This full-time, long-term position is available immediately to replace a valued staff member who has transitioned to a leadership role.

You will work closely with students in small groups or one-on-one settings, supporting Key Stage 1 and 2 learners with SEMH needs. The role offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of children who benefit from tailored emotional and educational support. Class sizes are kept small to enhance individual attention and meaningful interactions.

The school boasts modern, purpose-built facilities, including spacious classrooms, a sensory room, and outdoor learning areas designed to support students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

A strong focus on creativity and emotional well-being underpins the curriculum, with subjects such as Art, Drama, and Physical Education given significant emphasis. After-school clubs range from mindfulness sessions to sports and creative workshops, fostering a well-rounded learning environment. Located close to excellent transport links, it's a convenient and inspiring place to work.

Application Requirements:

Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., Level 3 Teaching Assistant, SEN certification). Have prior experience working with children with SEMH needs, preferably in a primary school setting. Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students and staff. Exhibit patience, empathy, and resilience to support students in overcoming challenges. Be proactive, adaptable, and collaborative in a fast-paced school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students with SEMH needs. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans. Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCO to tailor learning resources and activities. Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Monitor and record student progress, offering regular feedback to the SENCO and parents.

This role offers a fantastic opportunity to join a welcoming school community that values professional growth and personal well-being. Enjoy access to extensive CPD opportunities, mentorship programs, and a collaborative staff culture.
