Rikama Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Lewisham to join their team in January 2025.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children throughout the entire school, including pupils with SEN. You will work closely with an experienced team to provide personalised care and education to a range of children, enabling them to thrive and grow.
Other duties include lunchtime supervision, behaviour management support, assisting with activity and lesson planning, and assisting with administrative duties.
Responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the student, teachers, and CAMHs to implement a personalised Safety Plan.
Implement strategies within the plan to support the student in managing emotions and behaviour, maintaining focus, and completing tasks in the classroom.
Discreetly provide in-the-moment support to the student during class time as needed.
Document progress and collaborate with the team to adjust the plan as needed.
Maintain a positive and encouraging relationship with the student.
Uphold the school's professional code of conduct and confidentiality policies.
Qualifications:
Experience working with vulnerable adolescents in an educational or support setting.
Strong understanding of self-regulation strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build rapport and trust with vulnerable students.
Calm and patient demeanor with a positive and encouraging attitude.
Strong sense of professionalism, responsibility and confidentiality.
Ability to observe and document behaviours accurately.
