SEN Teaching Assistant

to support students with complex needs in a dynamic and supportive school environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with complex learning, physical, and emotional needs. Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and care plans tailored to each student. Use a range of strategies and resources, including visual aids, sensory tools, and communication aids, to support learning. Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, therapists, and parents to provide holistic support for students. Support personal care tasks, promoting independence where possible. Manage challenging behaviours using appropriate strategies and de-escalation techniques. Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and SEN staff. Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures at all times. What We re Looking For: Right to work in the UK

(essential). Relevant experience working with children or young people with complex needs, such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or physical disabilities. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. Patience, empathy, and resilience when working in challenging situations. Knowledge of SEN-specific strategies and tools (e.g., Makaton, PECs, sensory integration). A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to adapt to the individual needs of students. A commitment to promoting inclusion, independence, and well-being. Desirable Skills & Qualifications: Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Training or experience in Team Teach, Manual Handling, or other relevant SEN certifications. Familiarity with assistive technologies and communication aids.
