You will provide one-on-one support, helping students engage with their learning and develop independence, literacy, and mathematics skills. As an SEN teaching assistant, you will enjoy a high degree of job satisfaction as you have the opportunity to apply your skills to working with primary school students who need support building their independence and life skills through play and art therapy. The School Based in Bromley, this fantastic school is friendly and well-respected in the local community with students across the ages of 4-11. Pupils from Bromley and surrounding areas are offered a broad and balanced curriculum tailored to their learning difficulties. Support and training are offered every week to further develop your knowledge and skills as an SEN teaching assistant. You will be working with skilled Teachers and SEN Teaching Assistants in a classroom environment. The SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils. Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion. Provide support to pupils, individually or in groups, to access the curriculum and experience a sense of achievement. Support with planning, preparation, and resourcing for lessons. Encourage participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities. Use effective behaviour management strategies consistently in line with the school's policy. Organise and manage teaching space and resources to help maintain a stimulating and safe learning environment. The SEN Teaching Assistant Applicant The ideal SEN Teaching Assistant applicant will have the following qualities: Enjoyment of working with young people. Experience working with students with various SEN needs. Sensitivity and understanding to help build good relationships with pupils. A commitment to getting the best outcomes for all pupils. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality at all times. Commitment to safeguarding pupils' well-being and equality. Honest, hardworking, and transparent with a willingness to learn and develop.
