SEN Teaching Assistant - Primary and Secondary Schools About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team working in both primary and secondary schools in Westminster. The role will involve supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) across a range of abilities and needs. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact on the educational development of children in a supportive, inclusive learning environment. Key Responsibilities Provide tailored support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they are fully included in classroom activities. Assist with delivering personalised learning plans and intervention programs for SEN students. Support the class teacher in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment. Help students with their academic work, focusing on building confidence and independence. Work collaboratively with other members of the school's SEN team, including the SENCO. Assist in the preparation of classroom resources and materials for SEN students. Ensure that the physical and emotional needs of students are met, providing support as required. What We're Looking For Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, in a school setting. A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with students. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well within a team. A proactive attitude with the ability to use initiative and problem-solve. A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable, though not essential. An understanding of the SEN Code of Practice and relevant educational strategies.
