This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping the provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment. Key Responsibilities Lead the strategic development of the school's SEND policy and provision. Oversee the identification, assessment, and provision for students with SEND, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Collaborate with teachers, parents, external agencies, and other stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes for students. Provide guidance, training, and support to staff to enhance their ability to meet the needs of SEND students. Ensure the school’s SEND practices align with the latest legislative and best practice standards. Requirements The ideal candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Possess the National Award for SENDCo qualification (or be working towards it). Have proven experience in a SEND leadership role, ideally within a secondary school setting. Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation. Be a strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
