Full-time, Permanent About the Role: We are seeking dedicated and passionate SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Teaching Assistants to join our team in specialist schools across Surrey. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities for growth and development. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, including those with autism, dyslexia, ADHD, and other learning difficulties. Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies tailored to the needs of each student. Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their emotional well-being and building their confidence and self-esteem. Support students during lessons, helping them to engage with the curriculum and overcome any barriers to learning. Assist with the personal care and mobility needs of students, as required. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is highly desirable. Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, or equivalent, would be advantageous. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers. A patient and empathetic approach, with a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of students with SEND. Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond effectively to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic educational setting.
