About the Post: An exciting opportunity has arisen within Barnsley council. We are seeking to appoint a SEND Involvement and Information Officer to work within SEND Participation Team. This role will support the expansion of the Participation Teams remit as they take on responsibility for the SEND Local Offer. Alongside other members of the Participation team you will develop and maintain SEND information channels including but not limited to: social media channels, the Local Offer Website and phone lines. You will play a key role in ensuring information is available, accessible, current, and factually correct enabling families to make an informed choice about the services and support available to them. We would be particularly interested in hearing from applicants with experience in communications and/or information delivery and who have a knowledge of SEND services. You will have: An awareness of services available to children, young people with SEND and their families and what they offer. Experience of working with a range of virtual information channels. Good working knowledge of developing and maintaining a variety of virtual information platforms including social media, web chat, SMS messaging, videos.
