Little Acorns School is a school in rural Kent, surrounded by fields and nature, committed to supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs. We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic, nurturing Learning Support Assistant to join our ever-growing team due to the further expansion of our current cohort. We are ideally looking for a number of Learning Support Assistants with experience of working with pupils with additional needs; however, we would also welcome applications from other sectors. Experience of SEMH and challenging behaviour is desirable. We are looking for someone who is good with behaviours, robust, and can think on their feet when dealing with children who exhibit challenging behaviour. Learning Support Assistants will be expected to support whole class lessons alongside the class teacher, as well as run 1:1 interventions with individual children. Staff will also support children to Off-Site Provisions such as Equine Therapy, Forest School, and Swimming. We are looking for LSAs who are passionate about improving life chances for our young people, who look at the development of the whole child and see each child as an individual. We pride ourselves on working as a team for the benefit of our children, and all staff are seen as equals—everyone's opinions matter. The children at Little Acorns School are all working at a Primary School Level, and therefore all classes would be suitable for Primary Experienced candidates, including our KS3 classroom. We would also welcome candidates from KS3 settings. We have a full induction programme for all new staff members joining our team, as well as supportive staff and Leadership Team. We welcome visits to the school prior to applying. Little Acorns School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants. We are required to conduct online searches about you as part of the shortlisting process in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidance.
