Job Title: Senior Accessibility Consultant Contract Type: Permanent Location: Edinburgh or Alderley Park Working style: Hybrid 50% home/office based Closing date: 12th February 2025 Royal London has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Accessibility Consultant to join our Design Team. You will be passionate about enhancing the accessibility maturity of our business and will play a core role in ensuring that Royal London Group’s digital products comply with our accessibility standards. Embedding accessibility into our design and development processes is crucial to this role. As a Senior Accessibility Consultant, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining documentation on accessibility standards. You will also deliver training and provide guidance to colleagues, offering recommendations and assistance with implementing accessibility best practices to design and development teams. Key to the role is also providing quality assurance in respect to Royal London Group’s design of digital products and services to ensure they meet the needs of all our customers. About the role

Play a key role in developing our accessibility presence and capability focusing on training and guiding colleagues, raising accessibility awareness and monitoring accessibility maturity. Collaborate with the Digital Accessibility Operations Manager to ensure consistency in approach in the design and delivery of inclusive, accessible solutions across channels and touchpoints to best meet customer needs and deliver Royal London Group’s strategic goals. Support ongoing development of Royal London Group’s accessibility framework, guidelines on accessibility best practices and related materials. Acts as an accessibility subject matter expert, serving as a point of contact for accessibility queries and mentoring colleagues on accessibility best practice. Develop and deliver accessibility training modules for a variety of roles and teams within the business. Proactively share insights and knowledge to promote accessibility awareness across the company using various channels. Oversee accessibility audits and testing of digital products and services. Review product accessibility compliance reports. Monitor product accessibility changes and ensures that ongoing improvements are being implemented, feeding into the Royal London Group customer journey management framework. About you

Excellent communication skills with proven experience in accessibility consulting or working within an Accessibility Centre of Excellence. Ability to develop and deliver accessibility training to various teams. Experience in creating and maintaining documentation on accessibility standards and best practices. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify common accessibility issues, advising individuals and teams on solutions and best practices. Proven track record of conducting accessibility audits and creating and analysing accessibility reports, providing actionable recommendations. Strong understanding of user-centred design principles and how they apply to accessibility. Significant experience of WCAG, front-end technologies, assistive technologies and accessibility testing tools. Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements related to accessibility (for UK and Ireland). About Royal London
