A forward-thinking Accountancy Practice in Bolton is recruiting for a senior accountant to join their growing team.
In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with managing a portfolio of SME clients, providing a full range of accounting services, and supporting junior staff.
Senior Accountant Position Overview
Client Management:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for all accounting matters. Accounts Preparation:
Prepare statutory accounts, management accounts, and financial statements for a diverse portfolio of SME clients. Tax Compliance:
Prepare and submit VAT returns, corporation tax returns, and personal tax returns, ensuring compliance with HMRC regulations. Advisory Services:
Provide clients with insightful financial advice, including budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and business planning. Software Utilization:
Utilize accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage to maintain accurate and up-to-date client records. Mentoring and Development:
Support and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and reviewing their work to ensure high standards are maintained. Compliance:
Ensure all work complies with current accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. Continuous Improvement:
Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation, accounting standards, and best practices, and contribute to the firm's continuous improvement initiatives.
Senior Accountant Position Requirements
ACA/ACCA Qualified:
Fully qualified with at least 3 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role within an accountancy practice. Will also consider QBE. Experience with SMEs:
Proven experience in managing accounts for small to medium-sized businesses across various sectors. Technical Proficiency:
Strong knowledge of UK GAAP, FRS 102, FRS105 and relevant tax legislation. Software Skills:
Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. IRIS would be preferred but not essential. Client-Focused:
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to clients in a clear and accessible manner. Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines. Problem-Solving:
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing client needs and challenges. Team Player:
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
Senior Accountant Position Remuneration
