Senior Actuary - Reporting & Analysis 10 month fixed term contract

We are looking for a Senior Actuary in our Capital Reporting and Analysis team on a 10 month fixed term contract basis, to support the delivery and analysis of the Group’s Solvency II actuarial reporting requirements.

You will support the development and maintenance of these actuarial reporting metrics, as well as managing the implementation of any ad-hoc changes.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the production of the actuarial information required to support the Group’s internal and external reporting of Solvency II, as well as the information required for planning & analysis of these metrics.
  2. Lead the development and implementation of any SII methodology and regulatory changes.
  3. Develop and maintain Group-wide methodology to be deployed in actuarial systems required to fulfil the team’s objectives.
  4. Support the Heads of Capital Reporting and Analysis to set the bases required for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes.
  5. Ensure timely testing of the tools developed by the Actuarial Systems team for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes.
  6. Develop and improve the reporting processes used for actuarial reporting and analysis purposes.
  7. Represent the team and provide actuarial expertise to define actuarial requirements on projects and other change programme initiatives.
  8. Support the development of responses to requests from UK regulators and other third parties.
  9. Operate a robust control framework for the production of results including maintaining appropriate documentation and compliance with relevant requirements (including TASs).

Skills & Experience

  1. Knowledge of insurance products and markets, including UK reporting regulations.
  2. Experience in an Actuarial Reporting function with experience of annuities products. Equity Release experience is advantageous.
  3. Able to assess materiality of issues and determine appropriate course of action.
  4. Good problem analysis and resolution skills.
  5. Good verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex financial concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  6. Detailed working knowledge of relevant business processes.
  7. Leadership and influencing skills.
  8. Understanding of people resource requirements.
  9. Able to manage projects with other stakeholders in the company.
