Reporting to the Head of GI Reserving, you will lead the quarterly reserving process, ensuring the delivery of accurate and comprehensive reports to key committees such as the Reserving Committee and Audit Committee. This position involves managing a team of actuaries and analysts, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment while overseeing both technical and strategic initiatives. You will be the primary point of contact for external stakeholders, including auditors and regulatory bodies, providing expertise on reserving methodologies and assumptions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Alongside these responsibilities, you will contribute to company-wide projects, drive process improvements, and collaborate with pricing, claims, and other departments to deliver data-driven solutions. About you
You’ll be a fully qualified actuary with significant post-qualification experience in General Insurance (GI) Reserving. Your strong technical expertise is matched by a proven ability to lead and manage teams, driving performance and fostering professional growth among your colleagues. You have excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging with both internal teams and external parties such as auditors and regulators. Your ability to present complex actuarial concepts clearly and effectively enables you to influence decision-making at the highest levels of the organisation. You are proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled at balancing strategic oversight with day-to-day operational demands. A strong knowledge of reserving software ResQ and proficiency in tools such as SQL and Excel are essential. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on leadership, innovation, and making a measurable impact on the business. To join our team, you'll also have; An honours degree (2:1 or above) in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics or another degree with significant mathematical content. Fully qualified Actuary (FIA or FFA) Strong analytical skills including the ability to solve complex business problems using analytical and statistical methods. In-depth knowledge of current industry developments and regulatory framework. In-depth knowledge and understanding of actuarial techniques.
