What to Expect
We are recruiting for a Senior Aerothermal Engineer to join our fantastic Design team in Woking. As the Senior Aerothermal Engineer you will be responsible for the development of our road cars Heat Management and HVAC Systems using a combination of 1D simulation, CFD and vehicle testing to analyse requirements, define functional specification and complete calibration of HVAC control system. You will also apply continuous improvement methods, to support the development of our testing methodologies and design tool correlation, to aid concurrent engineering of our highly-integrated road cars.
What You'll Do
Programme lead for Heat Management and HVAC Systems from functional specification to programme sign-off, meeting programme attribute, timing and invest targets
Using a mixture of 1D simulation, CFD and vehicle testing methods to analyse and design the vehicles HVAC and heat management systems to meet attribute targets for, glass defrost, passenger comfort and verify engine bay component temperatures stay within allowable limits
Defining HVAC software control strategy, perform all development testing (rig & mule) to complete calibration and certification
Communicating system design progress and critical issues to programme management and the Chief Engineer. Leading Attribute, Styling, and Design reviews to ensure targets are meet
Defining attribute DVP and work in continual collaboration with Vehicle Development and the Vehicle Validation Coordinator to plan and ensure delivery of DVP activities
Supporting with the continual development of the Aerothermal testing methodologies (scale wind tunnel, vehicle testing) to reduce development times, improve test data accuracy and correlation of our design tools and increase the level of cross-function/attribute design integration
