Job Description As a Senior Analytical Chemist, you will lead method development and validation efforts, using advanced techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, and Karl Fischer. This role involves mentoring team members, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement in laboratory processes. Collaboration with customers and colleagues will be central to your success, as will your ability to deliver high-quality results on time. Develop and validate analytical methods for chemical compounds. Line management responsibility for Analytical Chemists and Lead Analytical Chemists. Manage the delivery of contractual KPIs to customer specifications. Assist in the training of staff. Liaise with the customer to update on progress, plan work, and provide technical advice and guidance. Perform analyses using sophisticated instrumentation and techniques. Prepare technical reports and ensure compliance with quality systems. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members. Collaborate with customers to plan work and share progress updates. Represent the laboratory in meetings and contribute to technical discussions. Qualifications Degree in Chemistry or a related field, or equivalent experience, is preferred. Experience of direct customer interaction is preferable. Prior experience of line management is highly desirable. The ability to question and improve upon current processes within the lab is highly desirable. Extensive experience with HPLC and other techniques such as GC, IR, and UV spectrometry. Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, or cGMP environments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead projects and deliver results. Familiarity with pharmacopoeias and professional certification (e.g., MRSC or Chartered Chemist) is a plus.
