Senior Analytical Chemist

We are looking for:

Pharmaron is currently looking to recruit a Senior Analytical Chemist who is enthusiastic and highly motivated to work at their Cardiff facility in the Quality Control Department. You will have an excellent working knowledge and experience of a range of analytical techniques, primarily spectroscopic and chromatographic, gained within the industry.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing analytical tests and procedures that advance and underpin the reputation of the organisation by ensuring that products meet the Quality standards required.

Key roles and responsibilities: Perform tests and procedures, in a timely manner, to assess products' compliance with the quality standards set. Be the analytical lead in the verification/validation of analytical methods, approving method verification protocols/reports and liaising with clients as required. Ensure that all activities comply with statutory safety regulations, any relevant standards (principally ISO9000), and company policies and procedures. Interpret and comment on analytical results in a manner appropriate for the audience. Ensure that work and projects are completed to the appropriate standard and within the timeframe approved for the work, advising the supervisor if such deadlines look unachievable. Ensure that waste is processed and disposed of strictly in accordance with documented procedures. Keep detailed and accurate records of work performed and in the approved form that allows for their efficient retrieval and interrogation. Support departmental or site audits as necessary. Requirements: Degree in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry (related degrees would also be considered e.g. Biochemistry). Experience in an analytical laboratory with expertise in organic analytical chemistry procedures. Proven expertise and industrial experience in Mass Spectrometry, NMR, and HPLC. Experience working with Radioactive material is highly desirable. Effective written and oral communication skills, including the ability to effectively defend scientific findings to colleagues. Excellent planning and organisation skills with the ability to multi-task, manage time, and adapt to changing priorities. High attention-to-detail with a methodical approach and the ability to maintain accuracy. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team. Why Should You Apply?
