Our client is a successful tech scale-up, a cash generative SME currently at c.£5m turnover and c.70 staff, looking to double in size in the next five years under guidance of its experienced, highly charismatic and driven CEO, supported by a first-class senior leadership team. We are looking to strengthen the company’s software engineering department, led by an experienced CTO, by appointing a new Senior Android Engineer. As Senior Android Engineer you’ll lead in developing world-class digital products bringing new features to customers, as well as supporting colleagues in growing their skills and ensuring the code is well-written and engineered. You’ll also be involved with exploring new technologies and integrations, strengthening the offering, as well as supporting the company as a liaison with other departments and stakeholders. Your responsibilities as Senior Android Engineer will include:

Developing key features, building high quality application features, aligning with the product vision Reviewing code and providing constructive opinion and comment Coaching colleague software engineers Ensuring a positive culture and communication in the engineering team, acting as colleague representative to the head of department Cooperating with product and scrum masters to enhance sprint efficiency, ensure timely delivery and overcome challenges Providing planning assistance in shaping and detailing short and medium term goals centred on overall strategy Researching and trialling new technologies As Senior Android Engineer you’ll need:

Strong commercial experience as Senior Android Engineer, Senior Android Developer, Lead Android Developer or equivalent, ideally gained in a fast-paced, growing software development company/department Knowledge of software architecture, cloud technologies, and modern programming languages including Kotlin Experience with Agile development methodologies, and wider development principles, methods and technologies (eg CI/CD pipelines, GitHub) Proven ability to optimise efficiency, balancing strategy with day-to-day operations Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving and decision making skills A positive approach, delivering best outcomes for the business and its customers A keen interest in new technologies and relevant thought leadership Rewards and Benefits:
