As the Senior Applications Engineer, this role will include definition of verification strategy, writing of verification plans and test procedures, and liaison with areas and organizations responsible for test equipment and test execution. As a Senior role, you must be talented in both customer-facing tasks and detail-oriented, analytical tasks, performing internal assessments to identify company needs, evaluating existing systems and applications to determine areas needing improvements, establishing testing structures, and providing solutions. Responsibilities:

Ensure functional specification & validation of Petalite’s technologies. Provide technical support and guidance on all applications of Petalite’s unique technology, both remotely and in person, based on sound engineering principles, practices, and applied standards. Plan, conduct, and review testing of new software, hardware, and calibrations at a variety of levels including integration testing, MIL, SIL, and HIL regression testing. Provide technical guidance, direction, and training to new and/or experienced engineers, specialists, technicians, and co-ops when required. Work with Program & Product Management teams to create high-level specifications. Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, products, applications, or field issues. Ensure appropriate use of proven system analysis and design methodologies to develop system design specifications, strategy, and algorithms that meet the requirements. Work closely with the Functional Safety department to ensure the analysis and development of appropriate functional safety requirements. Key Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline. Significant experience within the renewable energy/charging infrastructure industry in a Systems Engineering role. Knowledge and expertise in requirements analysis, management, test case creation, and execution. Proven experience in planning, executing, and reviewing test cases of new software, hardware, and calibration, including integration testing, MIL, SIL, and HIL regression testing. Familiarity with CAN, UDS, XCP, and associated toolchains (e.g., Vector, INCA, PEAK). Highly competent in system analysis for fault detection by performing & supporting the development of test cases, e.g., FMEA, FTA, HARA, etc. Strong expertise in the development of Design Validation Process. Experience in system/component delivery with full product lifecycle APQP, six sigma, or similar frameworks. Experience and proficiency in Software C-code, MathWorks, CAN, and communication protocols. Experience with MATLAB & Simulink model-based development for real-time applications. Effective communicator (written and verbal) for project and technical discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
