NRL are currently recruiting for a Senior Architectural Technologist to work on behalf of one of our clients in the Warrington area.

Expectations within the role:

Delivering Nuclear design work, inspections and construction site support on projects for a range of public and private sector clients within the UK and overseas. Work encompasses the full lifecycle of a project.

Supporting the preparation of designs for buildings of varying complexity, including production of relevant models and drawings using Autodesk products, particularly Revit and AutoCAD, throughout the various stages of the design process. Working with integrated multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high profile projects. Confident with working in a collaborative environment and utilising federated models to ensure a coordinated and integrated architectural design. Provide technical support to other members of the team. Ensure all work to be carried out with a positive attitude toward safety within the design, the office environment and during the construction phase. Assisting and mentoring team members to promote their technical and professional development. Provide support in the solution of problems that may arise during the design, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning and decommissioning phases. As specified by the Technical Lead on projects, provide progress updates and accurately report the estimate to complete assigned tasks. Responsible for ensuring, as far as possible, the correctness of their own work and for checking other relevant output. Must be a self-starter who is able to confidently produce quality outputs with autonomy, minimal supervision, and technical leadership to enhance the architectural capability of the team. Understand and support the process for developing and implementing BIM Level 2 compliant systems and processes. A good understanding of current design codes including Building Regulations and the application of these within building design. Familiarity and experience with the typical suite of architectural deliverables, for example the production of GA layouts, sections, elevations, fire strategy drawings, wall type drawings, setting-out drawings, schedules, finishes, specifications, envelope details, waterproofing details, firestopping and insulation, planning drawings etc.

You will need: HNC/HND qualified in Architectural Technology or a related subject. 5+ years’ experience in the Architectural delivery of complex and highly-serviced buildings. Preferred to be working towards or achieved CIAT membership or chartership.
