A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Senior Audiologist to join the Audiology Team. Audiology Tayside is a forward-thinking department that likes to innovate and consider new ways to deliver a quality, safe service for our patients. We have demonstrated this in 2024 through being awarded Scotland’s Chief Scientific Officer’s award for transforming services and being shortlisted for UK Advancing Healthcare Awards 2024 for Creative and Innovative Practice and we have gained UKAS IQIPS accreditation. Key Responsibilities:

Routine adult work Complex adult work for adults with severe and profound hearing loss, single-sided deafness, sudden hearing loss, other unusual configurations of hearing loss and impacting comorbid conditions Cognition and hearing loss support for adults with learning disabilities, dementia, and brain injuries Tinnitus and hyperacusis management in adults Vestibular assessment and rehabilitation Paediatric support for hearing loss, tinnitus, and hyperacusis Although the role description covers both paediatrics and adult work, we are open to discussing other areas the right applicant might want to specialise in. It is however expected that the candidate is motivated to learn and understands the time and initiative involved to focus on these ever-evolving specialities within audiology. This is an ideal post for an Audiologist who would like to further develop their audiology skills. Minimum Requirements:

You must have a BSc in Audiology or equivalent, and AHCS registration is preferred. The applicant should have good interpersonal skills and be able to engage with children and their parents as well as adult patients. Additional training and support will be provided if required. Audiology Tayside runs clinics across Tayside, your main base will be at Kings Cross Health & Community Centre, Dundee but you will be expected to travel to other locations when required. Hours of work are: 37 hours over Monday to Friday – typically 8 am – 6 pm over 4 days. Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email.
