The Senior Developer will be based from any Waracle office (Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow or London) in a hybrid working pattern. As a Backend Developer you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining server-side applications and services. You will work closely with our front-end developers, product teams, and DevOps to ensure the seamless delivery of highly scalable and reliable applications. As a Senior Engineer, your responsibilities will include: Leading the design, build, and maintenance of efficient, reusable, and reliable backend systems, RESTful APIs and microservices. Collaborate with the front-end team to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic. Ensure high performance, quality, and responsiveness of backend services. Manage and deploy cloud-based applications, ensuring scalability, security, and availability. Implement and maintain databases, including performance tuning and optimisation. Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code. Troubleshoot and debug complex issues to optimise application performance and user experience. Work in an Agile environment, participating in code reviews, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Implement security and data protection measures. Collaborate with DevOps to optimise CI/CD pipelines and ensure smooth deployments. Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in designing, developing, and deploying applications and APIs using C# and the .NET framework. Experience of handling data with models in C#, Entity Framework Core (EF) for database interaction, Controllers and Routing, and Dependency Injection in .NET APIs Practical experience with Azure and Azure Functions as part of a serverless architecture. Strong understanding of microservices architecture, with hands-on experience in building, deploying, testing and maintaining RESTful APIs. Experience in designing and implementing the Backend for Frontend (BFF) Knowledge of security best practices, including data protection, encryption, and OAuth. Solid understanding of version control systems (Git) and Agile development methodologies. Background working within highly regulated environments such as Financial Services. Experience with Umbraco. Containerisation tools such as Kubernetes, Docker or similar. Recruitment process
