Key Duties Undertake routine and specialist laboratory techniques in line with department standard operating procedures. Record information on the Pathology laboratory information system and ensure it complies with governance requirements at all times. Assess, initiate and monitor appropriate action when a situation may compromise service delivery and escalate as needed. Be aware of the processes for escalation of laboratory issues. Undertake technical validation and authorisation of results from laboratory investigations as specified by laboratory guidelines and policies. Communicate results as appropriate. Liaise with all grades of biomedical scientists, TLC staff and other users to ensure optimal service delivery. Skills & Experience Current state registration as a Biomedical Scientist in the UK (HCPC). BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent. Completion of specialist training or equivalent experience (more than 2 years) in the UK. Understanding of quality assurance procedures in accordance with UKAS standards.
