The purpose of this role is to characterise a cultivated meat upstream bioprocess with a range of bioreactors and cell types. Working with colleagues from across a range of disciplines, internal and external to the company. Working as part of a team to ensure high quality and timely delivery of the collective duties and responsibilities. Elements of project management for meeting deliverables and planning experiments. Objectives:
Work on a range of bioreactors and bioprocess technologies at various scales Develop experiments and internal standards to characterise, validate and evaluate bioreactor performance Develop technical specifications and operating manuals for bioreactors Evaluate bioreactor performance with adherent and suspension cells of different species Selection Criteria:
1) Experience
Demonstrable tissue engineering bioprocess and/or lab experience gained through an advanced degree or equivalent industrial experience. 2) Delivering for an organisation
Has developed and validated upstream bioprocesses for animal cell culture at a range of scales. 3) Team working
Demonstrable ability to work with a diverse range of people, working towards a common goal in a multi-disciplinary environment. Expertise
Essential:
Masters level or equivalent in bioprocess engineering, biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, biotechnology, biology or relevant subject area Experienced with animal cell bioreactor operation Preferable:
PhD in tissue engineering or bioprocess engineering Computational fluid dynamics or bioprocessing modelling Knowledge of the cultivated meat industry The Benefits:
