The opportunity will require candidates to be client-facing as well as being involved in the day-to-day design of projects and work closely with the existing management function within the midlands business structure.

Building energy performance, decarbonisation and retrofit skills and experience are an essential aspect of this position to meet the changing demands of our industry and address climate change.
Your purpose: Contribute to the wider business development process within AtkinsRéalis at a local level. Ensuring an understanding of project briefs, developing and delivering varied scopes of service. Be outward facing to the Markets including liaising with clients, professional organisations, contractors, suppliers, and sub-contractors - able to develop new and/or existing areas of business. Be able to 'own' the necessary responses to project opportunities and provide both strategic & specific input into bids and proposals. Successful in identifying and following through on leads associated with new and existing clients. Responsible for the preparation of fee proposals for submission to potential Clients with an ability to realistically estimate pricing and produce successful responses to bids across a range of expertise. Operate the Quality Assurance system, quality control and document management in line with current policy. Provide client strategy to achieve individual site and estate wide decarbonisation. Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools. Preparing technical specifications and develop design drawings. Work in partnership with AtkinsRéalis international Global Technology Centre (GTC) to add value to building services projects where appropriate. Representing AtkinsRéalis at meetings with clients and contractors. Site surveys, inspections, and monitor site works. Report and technical note writing. Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards. Managing own and others workload, updating forward plan of workload regularly and working to time allocations. Managing elements of project delivery and an understanding of budget costings. Reviewing progress, including reporting any anomalies and changes of scope to the project lead. Assist with technical development of junior staff. Identify manage and record business opportunities.
What you can bring: Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in related subjects. Hold sustainability / energy / carbon qualifications/accreditations. Chartered Engineer (or working towards CEng) with CIBSE or IET. Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to understand and express technical concepts clearly and accurately. Awareness of key legislation, regulations, and industry standards relevant to Building Services, i.e., building regs, London Plan, BREEAM, etc. Knowledge of energy and carbon related data capture and analytics. Awareness of the principles of building physics such as passive design solutions and fabric first approaches. Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or some experience of working within a contractor design environment is beneficial. Able to take charge of personal project deliverables, make decisions on developing the discipline design elements, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.
